PRINTMAKING WITHOUT A PRESS July 9-13 (Monday-Friday) Instructor: Jenn Robins This five day workshop explores several printmaking processes that are suitable for the home studio, that use simple tools and materials, and don't require a press. The prints created, can stand alone, or can be integrated with various art applications; paintings, drawings and other media. The week-long course allows time for individual direction in color and compositional elements, along with demonstrations that guide you in understanding the various processes. These processes include monotypes, gelatin as the matrix slab/brayer process, (relief printing using the new Gomuban plate and, positive/negative imagery creation, the painterly monotype). Students will be encouraged to create a mixed media print by using other media to complete the print and two or more processes within a single work. You will leave the workshop knowing how to use a brayer and printmaking inks to create prints in your own studio without the necessity of a press.
Tuition: $395 Material fee: $55 (includes ALL materials needed for workshop!)
