It is my honor to be invited back for the 10th anniversary of Alias Restaurant! The lifelong friends, family, and experiences I gained from my three and half years on the corner of Clinton and Rivington have never been equaled.
In 2004 the Nelson's, Bring it, Tony, Alex, and the entire restaurant ownership took a chance and gave me the opportunity of a lifetime! It wasn't easy, but we held true to our beliefs, created a fun, friendly neighborhood restaurant that focused on, you, our customers. Ten years later Alias is an institution in the best neighborhood in the city.
Since I made the hardest decision of my life and moved to Aspen, Colorado I have continued to cook simple food, make the kale and parmesan salad, started Chef Shane's Rocky Mountain Bacon, and moved to the Turk's and Caicos Islands to be the chef at the exclusive Meridian Club on Pine Cay. Since leaving Alias I am a better person, a better chef, and not a day goes go by I don't miss Armando, my friends, my family in New York City.
Tonight's menu is a collection of appetizers that are simple, delicious, and showcase what I learned at 76 Clinton Street and since my last day behind the pass on April 29th 2007.
It is my honor to cook for you tonight and to be a part of this institution we know as Alias Restaurant, and the place I still call home!
Shane
