Guest Chef - Joseph Pasqualetto

Greetings!
This Monday September 20th , we launch the fall series of our Monday Dinner Party at Alias.

This time, we're off to Spain with Gilt Restaurant executive sous chef Joseph Pasqualetto.

As you can see from the letter below to his friends and fans, Joe has fallen in love with Spain and Spanish cuisine over the years and is taking this opportunity to spoil us with a culinary trip around the country (see proposed menu below).

Joe is no stranger to us, having honed his slkills at 71 Clinton Fresh Foods before moving on to Gilt Restaurant where he is part of the team that has earned the restaurant 2 Michelin Stars for the last 2 years.

As usual, we'll open at 7pm so that you can kick off with a cocktail (we'll be featuring Joe's own creation for $8 - La Rambla!).  Dinner will be served at 7:30pm.

There's only one sitting and space is limited so be sure to make a reservation by calling (212) 505 5011.

As always please feel free to forward this email to any friends who you think might be interested in these events and encourage them to join our mailing list.

Look forward to seeing you soon.

JOE'S LETTER

Dear Friends

Join me for a celebration of Spain - Monday 20th September!

Over the past ten years working in New York City I have had the opportunity to travel through Spain on three separate occasions.   Even with my extremely French training and Italian heritage, I have developed a soft spot in my heart for Spanish cuisine and most importantly the Spanish way of life.

My most recent trip to Basque country has proven to be my most inspiring trip yet.
I was able to spend some very early mornings in the basement of the central Mercado de la Brecha.  This San Sebastian fish market, regarded one of the best in the world, is home to hundreds of different varieties of seafood.  A pleasant addition to this heavily fish based cuisine is the use of salt cured meats and impeccable produce.  In my opinion the one thing that makes the food of Spain the best in the world, is the casual manner in which they choose to enjoy it.

My friends at Alias restaurant are giving me the opportunity to recreate some of the things I love about Spanish cuisine right here on the Lower East Side as they have asked me to chef and host a dinner on Monday 20th September.

I'm very excited with the menu that I have created (see below) and would love to have you join us at the dinner.  Be sure to reserve early, as these Monday Dinner Parties fill up fast - Call 212-505-5011 to make a reservation.

Looking forward to seeing you...

Joe
