Greetings!
We just wanted to share with you the details of our next Monday Dinner Party at Alias,
 
This Monday  August 16th,  we're delighted to welcome back Chef and friend Mark Barrett.
 
Mark is no stranger to our kitchen, having spent a year at Alias before moving on to Henry's Restaurant on the Upper West Side. 
 
As a sous-chef at Mario Batali's Babbo restaurant and during his 2 years cooking in Northern Italy, Mark developed a passion for fresh, local, seasonal ingredients.  Back in New York he became a regular at the Farmers' markets.  It is there that he went to find inspiration for this menu.
 
His proposed menu and his letter to friends and fans follows below.
 
As usual, we'll open at 7pm so that you can kick off with a cocktail (we'll be featuring Mark's own market-inspired creation for $8 - tasty!).  Dinner will be served at 7:30pm.
 
There's only one sitting and space is limited so be sure to make a reservation by calling (212) 505 5011.

MARK'S LETTER

 
Hello Friends and Eaters,
 
You know I'll jump at any opportunity to cook with fresh, local ingredients and find any excuse to rummage around the farmers' markets. 
 
So, when my friends downtown at Alias restaurant threw down the gauntlet, I was easily persuaded to do a one-off come back and chef one of their Monday Night Dinner Party series.
 
The challenge for Monday August 16th is to produce a market inspired menu with a Mark Barrett twist in a dinner party (one seating) environment - all for $40! - as if I'm not busy enough at Henry's!
 
Take a look at my proposed menu below - packed with summer goodies and dishes that reflect my passion for cooking.
 
I'm really excited to be working with my friends at Alias again and would be delighted if you could come and join us for this evening of drinks and tasty
treats.
 
These Monday Night Dinner Parties have quite a following already so be sure to make your reservations early on 212 505 5011 to avoid disappointment.
