"The National Renewable Energy Laboratory" Seeking Industry Leaders for Workforce Guideline Committee
Local Professional Nominated by ACCA |
Crystal River, Florida - April 20, 2011 - Air Conditioning Contractors of America(ACCA) contacted many of its members seeking qualified professionals for the upcoming National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Workforce Guideline Committee Conference, which will be held May 17, 2011 thru May 20, 2011 in Golden, Colorado. The U.S. Department of Energy Office (DOE) of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is developing Workforce Guidelines for Home Energy Upgrades. The DOE defines this as "a comprehensive set of Standard Work Specification, Job Task Analyses, and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities applicable to energy upgrades for a single family home. The DOE subcontracted the NREL, to develop a national framework for workforce certification based on the guidelines.
Bay Area Air Conditioning & Heating, in Crystal River was one of the companies contacted by ACCA. When Dave Hutchins, President and Owner of Bay Area was approached by ACCA, he chose staff member Jolene Methvin, and submitted his nomination to the NREL. Jolene is the Customer Service Supervisor and is also responsible for New Construction Coordination. She has been with Bay Area for nine years and in the HVAC industry for ten years. She is a Certified Class 1 Energy Rater qualifying her for this nomination. If selected Jolene will be required to attend an online tel-conference prior to traveling to Colorado for the Committee Meeting.
"Jolene is very knowledgeable and professional," said Dave Hutchins, "if she is selected I am confident that she will be an asset to the committee." Throughout her career Jolene has served on other committees, including those with the Citrus County Builder's Association (CCBA) and ROTARACT. "It would be a great experience for me if they do select me," said Jolene. "I'll be competing against many other nominees Nation Wide and would be flattered and honored if selected", she added. |
