Federal Tax Credit Extended
Save up to $1,500 on a New AC Unit!
As part of an effort to reduce dependence on foreign sources of energy, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides a tax credit to help offset the costs of making energy efficiency improvements to you home. The tax credits apply to a variety of products including heating and cooling equipment. To take advantage of this you must purchase your qualifying high-efficiency comfort system between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010. |

Your Refrigerator May Need Cleaning Too!
Your household refrigerator operates on the same principle as your air conditioning system, removing heat from inside the refrigerator and dissipating it to the surrounding, your kitchen.
If your refrigerator dissipates heat by means of a "Fan" forcing air over the condenser, you'll feel warm air being blown out from it, usually at the bottom. If you have this type, it will save energy and your compressor, by cleaning the coils in this area, at least yearly. Check your owners manual, or the manufacturers website for instructions. |
Recipe of the Month
Steamed Sesame-Ginger Swordfish
This Months recipe is from Jolene Methvan, New Construction Service. Jolene joined Bay Area in December of 2002. Thank you for sharing your recipe. Serves two Ingredients 2 Swordfish Steaks 1 T Course Salt 2 T grated fresh ginger 2 T Soy Sauce 1 green onion sliced 2 T Sesame Oil 1 T Peanut Oil 1/4 C chopped fresh cilantro - for garnish Preparation Sprinkle salt on both steaks. Divide grated ginger evenly on both steaks. Gently steam fish for 10 - 12 minutes. Remove from steamer and place on plates. Pour soy sauce evenly over both steaks. Sprinkle with green onion. In a small saucepan, combine sesame and peanut oil, heat until hot - just until it starts to smoke. Pour hot oil evenly over both steaks. NOTE: It will sizzle and pop! Be careful. Top with chopped cilantro and serve. |
