Welcome to Moms Against Poverty - MAP

'Tis the season of giving; time to share joy and blessings with friends and family, ending the year with celebration while preparing for new and exciting things that will be coming our way in the New Year.

At MAP we are ending this year filled with gratitude for our strong community of supporters such as yourself. The fundraising event on October 2nd was a great success. Thanks to your generosity we raised over $90,000 to be distributed among MAP projects in Iran, US, Cambodia and Afghanistan. In addition to your generous contributions, MAP is proud to announce the receipt of an $80,000 grant from PARSA Community Foundation bringing our total fundraising efforts for 2010 above $200,000.

Moving forward into the New Year we have great plans set for 2011. In addition to supporting and expanding our projects in the US, Iran, Cambodia and Afghanistan, we also plan to expand our work into Africa. MAP Board members are traveling to Cambodia in January to visit our existing projects and to plan for future programs serving the needs of the children living in slums. In the summer of 2011, MAP Board Members plan to travel to Iran visiting the children in orphanages, ensuring the progress of our projects and to research new projects.

In closing, we invite you to give a gift that keeps on giving by donating to MAP. Your tax deductible donation is a gift of life and hope for a child in need.

Wish you many blessings during this holiday season.

Show them that we care, help improve their living conditions so they can focus and thrive on bettering themselves through their education.

Aziza Place School and Safe House, Phnom Penh, Cambodia: Aziza Place is a school and safe house located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia housing 25 children.  Without thisdumpsite center these children would be living in slums located within dumpsites.  MAP is currently raising funds to ensure these kids receive food, vaccinations and routine physical checkups.  In addition, we are raising funds to provide computers and a computer education program for these children.  Your generosity will help these children have the opportunity to learn and develop into productive members of their community.

Farkhondeh, Home and Shelter, Tehran, Iran: Farkhondeh is a 24-hour care center for mental and motor disabled children located in Tehran , Iran . These children have been abandoned by their parents and left at this center.  Based on the assessment of expert Occupational Therapists, we have learned that 40% of these children can live functionally independent lives with the help of occupational therapy.  MAFarkhondehP is currently raising funds to provide rehabilitation care for these children.  Your financial contribution will provide the physical and emotional development therapy these children need; therefore enabling them to be become more independent and lead purposeful lives.

Who We Are

Moms Against Poverty is a 100% volunteer based non-profit organization dedicated to serving and supporting orphans and at-risk children living in developing countries. Our vision is to nurture and educate these children to their fullest potential so that one day they can contribute and lead within their own communities; thus breaking the cycle of poverty. We carry out this mission by building and renovating schools and orphanages, providing education, health care and basic needs to these children one community at a time.
