February 2010
Greetings!

February is a month dedicated to expressing affection and this year, beef is the language of love. To help you celebrate and to kick off I Heart Beef Month, we're featuring ways to showcase your passion for beef!
February Is Beef Lover's Month!
I Heart BeefFebruary is a month dedicated to expressing love and America has  spoken...we love beef!

  • 62% of Americans agree nothing says love like a great steak dinner for Valentine's Day.
  • Americans associate steak as a "best match" for love (44%), romance (42%) and passion (41%)-more so than other high-end proteins.
  • When it's time to share that Valentine's Day meal, beef wins. A ribeye (35%) or T-bone steak (32%) are chosen as the best meal to share with a significant other.
  • 50% of Americans think filet mignon is the best way to say "I love you."
Beef 'n backrubs... In a recent study, 43% of Americans said they'd choose a beef meal to kick off a romantic evening of Jacuzzi time, back rubs and champagne. Do you agree? Tell us what you think and one lucky fan will get an I Heart Beef apron!
Celebrate Heart Health Month with Lean Beef
Heart clip artYou can feel good about loving beef
because research shows naturally nutrient-rich lean beef can be an important part of a healthy diet.

A growing body of evidence shows that lean beef, trimmed of visible fat, can be a part of a low saturated fat diet that does not increase heart disease risk factors.

Enacted through the 1986 Beef Promotion and Research Act and Order, the Wisconsin Beef Council is a checkoff-funded, producer-directed organization dedicated to building demand for beef and veal through promotion, consumer education and research.
