Election Day Registration
March 2012
Greetings!

At the start of the year, we pondered the dream of 100% turnout.  That may be fanciful, but the facts are that Same Day Registration in California would add 10 -12% to our voter turnout rate, as it has in the nine states that have it.

We hope you will join the California Participation Project and our partner California Common Cause in supporting AB 1436, which will allow for conditional voter registration between election day and 15 days prior.  People will then be able to cast  a provisional ballot, which will only be counted if their registration information is deemed correct.

To learn more about the bill and how you can support it visit California Common Cause, or download this fact sheet.
