January 2012

Greetings!

2011 drew to a close with many reminders of the divisions between us, and the inequities that persist in our society.  So let's begin 2012 by remembering the common action all citizens who are 18 and over can take this year - VOTE.

100% turnout is still a dream - less than 75% of eligible voters in California are registered and only 45% voted in 2010.  62.5% turned out for the last presidential election in 2008.  Let's resolve to top that in 2012.

In 2012, the California Participation Project will join our national partner Nonprofit VOTE and a broad national coalition in an effort to mobilize all nonprofits for the first ever National Voter Registration Day on September 25, an effort to ensure every eligible voter can participate and vote on Election Day.  To get involved CLICK HERE.

Start the year out right by creating a plan for voter engagement for your nonprofit.  Sign up for our national partner Nonprofit VOTE's first webinar of the year.

And check out the information below on webinars being given by our partners at Healthy City and Alliance for Justice.

And as always, contact the California Participation Project if you would like a personalized voter participation training for your nonprofit.
