How do I know what to buy?

Consumer choice for diesel vehicles has always been an issue for Piedmont Biofuels.  Today in the control room I overheard Lyle say, "I'm sorry.  We don't sell cfrom redbus2us.comars.  So we can't help you with that."

Why no one has opened a new and used diesel vehicle business up on highway 64 remains one of the great mysteries of the world to us.  While we wait for that to happen, here's a fascinating article on the new diesel makes and models that are coming to the U.S. market.

Seaboard Station: Quite the Destination!

Situated at the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Peace Street, Seaboard Station is downtown Raleigh's finest destination for local and independent stores and restaurants. What used to be the Seaboard Railroad station and a number of warehouses since the 1940's is now a destination for the foodie, the beer enthusiast, and basically anyone who appreciates fine taste with a small- town feel.

18 Seaboard is, to put it lightly, absolutely amazing. Chef Jason Smith has grown this upscale Seafood and Southern Flare establishment into an award-winning restaurant, all while maintaining a strong commitment to local farmers and producers. Their website boasts that as of April, they have "purchased $11,941.81 from local purveyors" including Lorax Lane's own farm to table company Eastern Carolina Organics.

And have you had the specialty- She Crab Soup! Smith shares the love and shares the recipe right on their home page. The only thing we love more than their commitment to sustainability is the amazing service...and the She Crab Soup.

Tyler's comes to Raleigh! Sharing one of the warehouses is the newest addition to the bunch, Tyler's taproom. A coop-member favorite of Carrboro, Tyler's has already established itself as the official beer and burger joint without all the BS. Serving up local brews by the dozens and hormone-free beef, they're redefining the bar-food experience. Come enjoy the amazing patio and please... please order the fried green tomato pimento cheese BLT!

Peace friends. Peace.

Whoever said that you couldn't get incredible, authentic, high-quality Chinese food for less than ten dollars is, well, completely unaware of the gem that sits in Seaboard Station. Peace China has, by leaps and bounds, the BEST dumpling and potstickers in Raleigh, and maybe even the universe. It is the Chinese food walk-up café that you think you know...but you have no idea. They appreciate each customer and take care with each order.

J Betski's

needs no introduction. It is simply the glorious combustion that happens when central Eastern European cuisine meets the New South. Carefully selecting the perfect beverage pairings to go with their pierogies, schnitzels, and wursts, Chef John F. Korzekwinski brings the taste of the old country to the heart of downtown Raleigh. And they do it while still being fresh, vibrant, and healthy. From kielbasa, to the beautiful beet salad, J. Betski's has something for everyone. Check a video from UNC-TV on their home page a see more!

Whether its grabbing a quick bite before heading to the hardware store or simply treating yourself to delicious fresh and local foods, Seaboard Station is a place where the savvy foodie, supportive coop member, or just average "Joe" looking for some curry goes to get his fix.
