Whole Foods has been a pioneer in bringing natural foods to their communities since 1980.  Whole Foods is named after their mission to maintain "wholesome foods" in a retail grocery store setting, while maintaining their commitment to sustainable agriculture and the environment.

Whole Foods website is overflowing with knowledge on their high quality food, environmental footprints, and lots of information on how to get healthy.

For example, there is a section for budget friendly recipes, $40 in clickable coupons, and helpful meal planners.

An internet recycling guide, EPA emissions guide, paper calculator, and refrigerator retirement fund are interesting ways to track your footprint.

Whole Foods walks the walk.....From their Green Mission to their Community Iniatives, they are excellent roles models, teaching us how business and community can live in harmony.  They embody our own company mission and we invite you to find out for yourself. Please take the time to visit your local Whole Foods and exchange stories with a team member about sustaining the community .  For  more info, visit their website at www.wholefoodsmarket.com.

The best part is......several of you lucky members will be receiving gift certificates to your local Whole Foods, courtesy of the Free Lunch Program.  Upcoming newsletters will keep you posted on gallons collected from all of the local stores.  You will truly feel thankful for all the fuel they put into your tank.

July 2011

chris education summer camp
Chris leads the group in a two-part biodiesel workshop, which included crushing cranberry seeds in the seed press.  This yielded a bright orange cranberry seed oil - not practical for biofuel but highly valuable and nutritious!

We have decided to thank them for all they do and ask that you come out to help us support a restaurant that has contributed more than  1,000 gallons of used cooking oil to your local fuel source.

Their craft beer and great food, makes it easy to thank them for all they do.

This is an important coop event and helps us keep you on the road.  See you there!
