Project of the Month

Hardscaping

Due to the large scope of work dedicated to this project we will be presenting it in a two part series.  This month's article will showcase the types of hardscaping materials that Cedar Run Landscapes can incorporate into the landscape.  Please read next months issue to learn how our staff took elements from the clients previously owned home and incorporated them into the new landscape plan.

Corner of House Deck Instilation

At their new home our clients wanted to create outdoor living spaces for their family and friends to enjoy. After installing a deck off the first floor (as seen above) they asked us to create a space that would allow them to better utilize their back entrance.

Patio Walls
Removed Vegetation and Installation of Patio Walls

To begin the backyard transformation Cedar Run Landscapes installed an E.P Henry raised patio directly off the basement door using Coventry Plus Wall Block, Double Sided Coventry Walls, and Coventry Stone 1 Pavers all in Dakota Blend.

Steps leading to Patio
E.P Henry and Natural Stone Steps with Wall

After the patio walls were complete we began building the steps leading down to the lower part of the backyard. Our design team decided that transitioning from the E.P. Henry pavers into Natural stone slabs would allow us to incorporate the natural stone retaining walls into the steps. By choosing a natural stone color, Colonial Gray, that matched the tones of the E.P. Henry block we were able to switch from pavers to natural stone seamlessly.

National Garden Month

What will you do to help your community?

The National Gardening Association celebrates

National Garden Month each April. The NGA states that

it is important to celebrate this time of year and to

focus on the connection between people and the

natural world. Studies have shown that spending time

outside in a natural environment can improve health

and reduce stress levels. Throughout the country,

events and activities have been organized to unite

people with gardening. Cedar Run Landscapes

is asking you to find a little time this month to celebrate

National Garden Month. There are many things that

you can do such as plant a vegetable garden, visit

a farmers market, or volunteer at a local school's garden.

Garden Month.

This tree will grow in many soil times as long as it is

in full sun. Its green foliage turns bright orange to

yellow in autumn. The Okame cherry is used mainly

as a specimen plant but can also be used as  a border
