"LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS"
November 4,5,6,8    7:00pm
Tickets: $7 & $5
Don't miss the Blackfoot High School drama students' production of "Little Shop of Horrors."  One of the longest Off-Broadway shows of all time, this spoof of 1950's movies has become a house-hold name, thanks to the highly successful Disney film and song-writing team of Ashman and Menken.  The New York Times said "This horticulture horror will have you screaming with laughter!"
The story:  A down-and-out skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers and exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood.  The R & B carnivore offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite.  The music, composed in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, "Skid Row (Downtown)", "Somewhere That's Green," and "Suddenly, Seymour."
Concert Series:  PAVLO
November 15 * 7:30pm
Tickets:  $20 adults/$15 students
Experience an extravaganza of Mediterranean passion like never before.  Composer & guitar virtuoso Pavlo along with three spectacular musicians will steal your heart in Greece and bring your feet through Spain... all in one magical Mediterranean night.  Pavlo is a Canadian-born musician who has attracted more than your average music fan.  His ability to combine his Greek heritage with flamenco music and spicy Latin rhythms has created a unique style of music he calls "Mediterranean."  Pavlo has toured the world many times and won a host of awards.  He was nominated for a 2010 Juno award in the "Best Instrumental Album of the Year" category for his most recent album "Trifecta".  In 2008 he hosted his own PBS special,  "Pavlo: Mediterranean Nights".  Audio and video clips are available at pavlo.net.
Backstage Event:  SAXOPHOBIA
November 19,  7:30pm
Tickets:  $10 adults/$6 students
Saxophobia brings to the BPAC Backstate Events a "Who's Who" of sax gone wild! Audience members will sit on the stage in an intimate concert setting while they see and hear a sopranino-the smallest saxophone in the world; a mammoth six-and-one-half-foot contrabass sax; and virtually everything in between. The show's entertaining presentation recognizes the contributions of legendary artists and the songs they popularized.  Today, over one hundred and fifty years after its birth, the saxophone continues to be loved and is a vital voice in many styles of music. Saxophobia presents a rich and riveting history of the saxophone and the players who gave the sax its many voices.
