Meet the Dallas Brass |
 On Tuesday, November 10th at 7:30 pm, the internationally acclaimed Dallas Brass will be performing at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center, 870 South Fisher. Tickets are available at Tweedy's Music or by calling the Performing Arts Center at 317-5508. All seats are reserved and ticket prices are $20 for adults and $15 for students/children up to age 18. Group rates are available for groups over 10.
The Dallas Brass' primary mission includes connecting with young musicians. Earlier in the day of the concert, band students in Blackfoot will participate in a clinic with members from the group. During the concert, Blackfoot Mountain View Middle School students will be featured in a "Star Wars" tribute and the Blackfoot High School band students will play an Americana medley with the Dallas Brass.
Since 1983, the Dallas Brass has become one of America's foremost musical ensembles. The show, "American Musical Journey," incorporates a full complement of brass and percussion for a musical travelogue through American history, from the time of George Washington to the present day. The program's music has been selected from masters - Copland, Bernstein, Gershwin, Berlin, Sousa; from bands like the Tijuana Brass and Chicago; and styles from Dixieland, swing, Broadway, folk, patriotic, pop, and even hip-hop. There is definitely "something for everybody."
