Farm Show Wrap-Up
At the 2011 Pennsylvania Farm Show, January 8 - 15, beef and veal took center stage at various venues across the 24-acre indoor complex.
During the Farm Show Opening Reception on Friday, January 7, approximately 1,500 guests dined on PA Proud™ beef tenderloin appetizers, with sponsorship from Weis Markets, Sunbury, PA, and veal appetizers, donated by Marcho Farms, Franconia, PA.

Lean Beef for a Lean You!
The Beef Checkoff, through the Northeast Beef Promotion Initiative (NEBPI), will launch a 2011 New Year's promotion called "Lean Beef for a Lean You" in 117 retail locations throughout the Northeast region this January. The Kentucky Beef Council also will participate in the promotion with five retail locations.

The promotion features four lean beef recipes in a color booklet including the new I Heart Beef recipe. Cabot Cheese is providing a coupon of $1 off the purchase of two Cabot bars for the recipe booklet. Additional point-of-sale materials include shelf wobblers and an online micro-site for shoppers to enter-to-win a grand prize sweepstakes of a $250 gift card to a local spa and a $250 grocery gift card. Runner-up prizes include Beef. It's What's for Dinner® engraved MP3 players and the Healthy Beef Cookbook. The promotion will run from January 10 through February 28.
