At the same time as being sworn-in as a new US citizen, Dominique decided to take back her family name and will henceforth be known as Dominique Velociter. Her new email address is dvelociter@fasri.org.

Financial Aid for 2012/13

Full details regarding applying for Financial Aid (or for Bourses Scolaires for French citizens) are available on our website at:

The application deadline for FASRI financial aid is February 29, 2012 and for the Bourses Scolaires March 2, 2012. Please contact Louise Jakobson at ljakobson@fasri.org if you have any questions.

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/teacher conferences begin on Monday, March 19, for students in PS - Grade 5. A sign-up sheet will be available in the office after vacation.

The Middle School Parent/Teacher Conferences will be on Thursday, March 22. 
Mardi Gras: Volunteers Needed

ISM (Independent Schools Management) is currently conducting a nationwide survey of families at over 5,000 independent schools. The findings from these surveys help FASRI plan for the future. Please consider taking 5 minutes to give your feedback:

Festival de la FRANCOPHONIE: Mark your calendars

 

March is the month we celebrate our French culture and language. Major events will be held all around New England and more particularly at FASRI.  

  

March 2

Mardi Gras @ FASRI

Open to FASRI students and alumni from 1st to 8th grade.  Friday, March 2 from 6.30pm - 9pm in the FASRI auditorium.  There will be crepes, beverages, music, dance, costumes, and fun with the whole family.  $10 Adult/$7 Student.  

 

March 15

FASRI's Got Talent!   

FASRI students invite you to enjoy their piano recital and theater performance: Star Academy written and performed by FASRI's theater club and Trinity Repertory. Free and open to all.   

 

March 20

Levée du drapeau

  FASRI students will sing at the Rhode Island Statehouse at the annual Francophonie flag-raising ceremony, attended by officials and the French-speaking community. This year's flag-raising ceremony is on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 1.30pm at the Rhode Island Statehouse. At 3.30pm, the celebration moves to FASRI, where there will be student led tours and a presentation of FASRI and dual language education.  The day will conclude with a reception at 6pm at the Alliance Francaise of Providence. Free and open to all.

 

 March 22

« Le Carnaval des Animaux » de Camille St Saens  

Alexey Shabalin, renowned violinist, D.M.A violin and music professor from Providence College, will perform "Le Carnaval des Animaux" by Camille St Saens on Thursday March 22 from 5-6pm in FASRI's auditorium.  Free and open to all.
