November 2010
State of the School and Beaujolais Festival special issue!
The beginning of the school year is always busy, and this year is no exception. Life at FASRI is in full swing at every level: students and teachers are rehearsing for their holiday chorus, volunteers have worked day and night to prepare for last week's Beaujolais Festival, and the holiday break is just around the corner.
We hope you enjoy reading our latest news. As ever, if you have any questions, please contact us.
Happy Thanksgiving! And THANK YOU for all of your support.

State of the School 2010

The 4th annual State of the School last month was attended by FASRI parents, donors, volunteers and members of the community who came to hear about FASRI's latest news. Head of School Dominique Thompson, Board Chair Steve Vavrik, Finance Committee Chair Paul Boghosian, and Development Committee Chair Betty Cares highlighted FASRI's achievements last year as outlined in the 2009/10 Annual Report.
Copies of the Annual Report are being mailed, please contact us if you would like to receive a copy.
In 2009/10, FASRI continued to move forward, upgrading technology for our students, thanks to grants and generous donor support, including a partnership with French company APC by Schneider Electric. Enrollment was higher than anticipated which was good news financially for the school. FASRI also started its three-year new strategic plan which was approved earlier this month.

FASRIFundDuring the evening, Parents Cynthia Ventre-Hewitt and Brigitte Couture, jointly chairing the FASRI Fund, spoke movingly of their support for the school. Cynthia and Brigitte will be spearheading the fundraising efforts for the FASRI Fund, which supports all student programs. Donor support is essential for FASRI to continue providing a quality dual language education to our students. You will be hearing from Cynthia and Brigitte soon, and we hope we can count on your support.

Thank you to all. The State of the School gives FASRI the opportunity to thank all its donors and volunteers for all their support. So, once again, merci beaucoup!

A runaway success in Casablanca

Preliminary results for the 17th annual Beaujolais Festival are fantastic. With the indispensable help of dedicated volunteers, FASRI has raised close to $35,000 to benefit students! Thank you to all who worked so hard, attended the event, and had a great night.
Thank you too to all of our sponsors, donors, and friends. Our wine sponsor Campus Wines brought a superb selection of wines to the evening, including Beaujolais Nouveau of course.
We're open to suggestions for next year's theme. Do send us your ideas!
