La Gazette de l'Ecole

September 2010
C'est la rentrée. Or, it's back to school at FASRI.
     We're back!

After the summer break and the hustle and bustle of back to school, we'd like to say bonjour to you, our FASRI friends and donors.

Bench_students
Over 180 kids came back to FASRI September 1. Classes are already in full swing, both in French and in English. It's great to see the students back after the long summer.

Thank you for your loyal support. With your help, the kids are developing a unique  worldview through FASRI's dual language education. Your support bridges the gap between tuition and the cost of running the school.

On October 27, we'll be holding our annual State of the School evening for donors, volunteers, and friends of FASRI. We're excited to tell you about our past accomplishments and our plans for the year. More details will follow shortly.

The Gazette de l'Ecole will keep you updated with all that's new over the year, and we hope to see you at a FASRI event in the near future.
Let us know what you think of our new format by replying to this email, we'd love to hear from you.

     A bientôt!

P.S. it's not just children who come to FASRI to learn another language. We have language classes for adults too. It's registration day next Wednesday September 22, read more below.

Tiptop Technology Thanks

  MobLab
Middle schoolers working with the mobile computer lab laptops.

We couldn't have done it without you. Faced with aging, ailing computers and an urgent need to upgrade equipment for our students, you rose to the challenge and helped us raise over $35,000 for technology last year.

Technology carries a high price tag, but it's essential for today's students. We wouldn't have been able to provide these wonderful resources to the kids without your help.

     Thank you.

iMacs
The eve of back to school, brand new computers await the students' return.

No Beaujolais Festival would be complete without a taste of the Beaujolais Nouveau of course... Thanks to our friends at Campus Wines, we'll be offering you a great wine-tasting too. More news soon!

Questions? Contact Louise Jakobson at: ljakobson@fasri.org.
