What's not working in your life?
I read Gay Hendrick's book, The Big Leap, this past summer and highly recommend it. I have just broken through an upper limit problem, which is described in the The Big Leap. (see details of the limit I broke through below) . I read a great article about upper limits breakthroughs from another coach, Karen Walker, in her recent blog post. If you read her blog post, you will understand more fully what I am talking about in my life. You can read her blog here.
For background to this issue, I wanted to share about the planetary influences going on right now. We are just coming out of Venus Retrograde on November 18th, which does not happen very often, only about every 18 months. Venus has been retrograde since October 8th and this has been a particularly powerful one, from what I have read, based on other influences. I also just read that Venus will be in a standstill until December 20th, which appears will have just as much affect or more as the retrograde period. I am not even an amateur astrologer but am interested and read about it. Here is some of the information about this time we are experiencing:
"Venus affects love, rules feelings and emotion, aesthetics and tastes, relationships, fashions and all forms of desire, money and wealth. Venus rules social attitudes and behavior, along with aesthetic tastes and inclinations. She symbolizes female relationships and social interactions at every level-and her placement also indicates our values. She governs romance, marriage and other partnerships, capacity for humor, and the pursuit of pleasure.
It is a time when we are called upon to go back and take care of unfinished business, particularly to do with relationships, emotional and financial. Often we are forced to deal with deep feelings that have their origins in past events. They are activated on an inner level but are often difficult to express to ourselves or others while Venus is retrograde." You can read the whole article here.

I have felt this retrograde energy very strongly in my relationships and have seen it with clients, family and friends. The influences right now have magnified what is not working in our relationships. In particular, my relationship with my husband felt very strained. More About My Changes
I started a cleanse a few days ago to remove all toxins from my diet. When we do this, it removes toxic things that don't support us from our lives as well. I have removed all sugar, artificial sweeteners, excess carbohydrates, caffeine, effects of plastic, etc. One of the things that helps keep us in a stuck place is using a coping mechanism like food, cigarettes, alcohol and other substances to continue in a situation that we do not like.
One way to get really clear on your life is to remove all of these substances and see what you think and feel about your life without them. If you have many of these in your life, this may be very hard and you might be quite miserable at first. This is because you have relied heavily on them to exist in your current state. Almost all of us do this to some extent. How much you do it will tell you how authentic you are in your life. If we have no substances or behaviors to cope, we have to deal with what is really there and how we really feel.
I don't recommend doing this all at once or without help if you have serious addictions or issues to deal with in your life. Please seek proper medical attention for help in dealing with this, if needed. I was already really eating quite well. Eating well is one of those things that helped me break through my upper limit. This is something that I have been working on for several years, letting go of using food as a coping mechanism for dealing with life.
I have done different kinds of cleanses many times, have made dietary changes along the way and dealt with many personal issues. The Now Technique has been especially helpful to me in working through issues, coping with what comes up and helping me work through emotional issues. I am a facilitator in this technique and would love to talk to you about it to see if it would be right for you.
