Greetings!

PROPERTY PURCHASED: ORPHANAGE SAVED: MANY RESPOND

This has been a dramatic two weeks, right out of a Hollywood movie...(and what a movie script it was:  "greedy landlord; impending closure of a children's home; heroic and faithful "mom" to 175 children standing between them and eviction')....but this time it was all too true, and happening half a world away. But with the clock beating down to the final hour, the appeal went out, and many of you said "Yes, Doug, I'll stand with her", and just like that, the $15,000 required to purchase the land deed was raised. Absolutely amazing! Now, Mary Muriuri, director of The Shelter Children Rehabilitation Center in Ngong, Kenya (DTW's partner project) will obtain the title deed to its 20 acres of land.

"Asante Sana!" That's the Kenyan way of saying "Thank You Very Much".  To which I add "Bwana Asafiwe", or "Praise God" in the same Swahili language.

Discover the World tries very hard to plan ahead as much as possible. But Africa being Africa, there are many unexpected needs. Your extra generosity in this one has been a miracle of God, in which many of you in our community have committed to reach out around the world and help stabilize the future for 175 orphan children.

Asante Sana indeed!
