Good Morning,
A recent article in the Huffington Post discussed how the Internet has changed the way we access personal health information. No longer are people just turning to physicians, family & friends for guidance. In recent years, people have started going online and utilizing health websites as resources to read, research and analyze ailments and conditions.
The same can be said when describing the veterinary health industry. An educated pet owner is a great thing. We simply encourage our patients to research, but avoid becoming "Dr.Google".
MVS surgeon, Dr. Marc Wosar, was recently interviewed by ABC-Channel 10 on this exact topic. He discussed how self diagnosing medical symptoms can be misleading and to avoid deadly mistakes, it's best to check in with your local veterinarian if you're seeing any symptoms in your pet that may be of concern.
