Adopt Jimmy!

Little boy wants a family

"Jimmy" came into orphanage care at approximately 14 months.  He is described as outgoing, active 2 year old, having a ready smile and he likes to play with the other children.  Since coming into care he has received medical treatment for his Endocardial Fibroelastosis and his overall development has improved.  His report suggests he might grow out of the heart condition but his file should be reviewed by a medical specialist for further recommendations.

Pictures and a medical are available if you are interested in adopting him.  One trip is anticipated to complete the adoption.
If you are interested in Jimmy, please contact Angela Jackson, our waiting child coordinator.  We encourage families who have their homestudy complete to inquire, but if you do not, we ask that you are ready to work quickly to complete everything.

CAS has several waiting children.  See more on the
Waiting Children pageFor questions about waiting children, contact Angela Jackson, our waiting child coordinator.  She will be able to guide you through the different programs and application.

Adoption Tax Credit

The federal adoption tax credit provides you a way to relieve some of your adoption costs. The Affordable Care Act increased the amount of the credit and made it refundable.

A few things to know about the credit:

  1. Qualifying expenses include reasonable and necessary adoption fees, court costs, attorney fees, and travel expenses.
  2. The adoption tax credit makes adoption possible for many families who could not afford all adoption related expenses.
  3. To claim the credit complete and file Form 8839.  Documents in support of the adoption must be attached to this tax form.  These documents may include a final adoption decree, service contract from CAS, court documents, etc.

For more information about the Federal Adoption Tax Credit visit the IRS website by clicking here.

We look forward to being a part of your adoption journey!
