A Super Summer Celebration Hit!
Carolina Adoption Services' families recently experienced what has been touted as "the best family picnic ever!" On June 6, 2009, children adopted from around the world and their families journeyed to the Natural Science Center in Greensboro to explore, socialize, learn more about Going Forward Together, photograph the wildlife, and have a great time. The event was so special the animals even stayed up past their bedtime. The over 400 people who enjoyed the event would like to extend an extra special thank you to the generous donor that made our family summer celebration possible this year. Our families and staff will talk about it for years to come.
We want to send a special thank you to the donors who made the whole event possible with their generosity. You can find pictures of our event on the CAS website or the CAS facebook page.

Post-Adoption Hints & Tips!
After the rush of preparing documents, traveling, and bringing your child home, you just want to sit back and enjoy. As much as we want this for you as well, Post-Adoption preparedness is important. We hope these tips & hints will help you feel more successful with post-adoption and the process of going on with your lives.
- Make sure you re-finalize the adoption when back in the U.S. After re-finalization you will be able to get a state birth certificate and U.S. passport for your child. This makes registering for school, planning vacations, and dealing with health insurance so much easier.
- Give CAS a copy of your child's foreign adoption decree and birth certificate when you arrive back in the U.S. Many times, families move homes or offices and lose the original documents, which generally can't be replaced.
We hope you find these useful. Look for more to come in following News to Notes. Do you have recommendations to other families? Let Siri Scott know and she will include them in a later issue. |
