Making Strides in the Ride for Hope!
|
Greetings!
First and foremost, we hope that you and your family are healthy and well - wherever you live!
This issue is packed with stories, events and ways to help.
Many of you are already aware of two of our recent recipients Linda Andrisani and Jack Stedding. We are most grateful for the response we have received to assist them through this difficult time. Linda and Jack are like many of our recipients - hard working people who are struggling to make ends meet after a serious illness. A gracious thank you to those who have sent in donations in their honor.
Be sure to mark your calendars for all the upcoming events. You won't want to miss them. We are excited to head to Las Vegas next month for the High Roller Reining Classic where we'll host the "Play it Forward" Poker Tournament for the third year! It's always a lot of fun and this year we're looking forward to seeing the gold medal WEG team riders compete - in the ring and at the poker table!
There are so many ways to give back even if you can't attend an event. In addition to supporting FarmVet's EAF Day, which happens to be next Tuesday!, be sure to check out the full-line of Success Equestrian saddle pads. Every saddle pad purchase helps EAF too!
As always, thank you for your generous donations and memberships. To date, the EAF has distributed more than $1.7 million to equestrians, horsemen and equine-related professionals. Again, thank you for sharing this ride for hope. We would be unable to continue our mission without you.

A Note of Thanks for Jack Stedding and Linda Andrisani
|
Several months ago, the EAF heard the plight of two prominent members of the equestrian community. Judge Linda Andrisani is being treated for cancer and, therefore, unable to work for several months. Jack Stedding, who has struggled with health issues of his own, was also not working. Their health conditions, now created a financial crisis.
With an immediate review to ensure they met EAF required criteria for assistance, we were able to provide emergency funding for critical medical and living expenses. They will continue to receive monthly assistance throughout their time of need. "We have been overwhelmed by the support from the equestrian community on behalf of Linda and Jack," said EAF President R. Scot Evans. "Their long-time contributions to the equestrian community and their current situation have certainly touched people's hearts to give. We're so grateful to have the funding to help people when it's needed most."
Linda and Jack have asked us to share their heartfelt gratitude for your gracious donations.

Kudos to Equestrian Author Rebecca Cagle
|
Rebecca Cagle, equestrian author and owner of Professional Life Coaching for Horse People based in Knoxville, Tenn., made a donation based on her book sales during the month of July. As a stage III breast cancer survivor, Rebecca endured chemotherapy, radiation, mastectomy and reconstruction surgeries and wants to give back to pay forward the many people helped her in her time of need. "I do not know what would have happened to me without the help of a lot of caring people - family, friends and strangers," said Rebecca. "So I want to help other equestrians going through cancer and other life threatening medical challenges." Thanks to Rebecca, and the many others like her, who understand the necessity and personal rewards of helping those in need. See Rebecca's books. Contact Rebecca regarding life coaching services.
