Greetings!
Spring is in the air! With Mother's Day right around the corner, now is a great time to purchase a Zen Horse 1 silk scarf. It's a great gift and supports the EAF mission at the same time!
We have a special feature this issue. It's a letter written by our Director of Grant Recipient Services Janise Gray to our board of directors. She shares the passing of our long-time EAF recipient - 2k00-011.
Even without knowing her name, as she asked to remain anonymous, it's a glimpse into her life and the challenges she faced. In addition, we've included a link to a poignant letter she wrote about the impact the EAF had on her life.
For many, Janise is the heart and soul of EAF. She works directly with those who are applying for funds and maintains contact when they become recipients. If a recipient chooses to remain anonymous, Janise is the only person within EAF who knows their name.
Applicants must fill out an application and provide documentation for consideration. Each application is reviewed by a committee of board members who share the responsibility for evaluating cases and determining funds. Each individual applicant is reviewed by a standard set of criteria and assessed on the severity of the need. If you have questions regarding the application process, please contact Janise.
Donations, memberships and events, provide funds to assist recipients during a time of need - whether assistance is needed for months or years.
To date, the EAF has distributed more than $1.7 million to equestrians, horsemen and equine-related professionals. We rely on donations from the horse community to continue our mission.
