Making Strides in the Ride for Hope!
Greetings!

This year started with a BANG! It's been quite a roller coaster of great events!

The Sidelines Tetrathlon Presented by FarmVet was so much fun, we're wondering why we didn't bring it back sooner! It was a terrific opportunity to see so many people working together to create a spectacular evening, and ultimately, the incredible driving spirit to give back and help those in need. See the links below or visit the EAF website and Facebook page for recaps, thank yous and photos! If you attended the event, feel free to offer comments to improve it for next year! Mark your calendar now for Feb. 5, 2012!

EAF(R)logolrThen on the heels of such excitement, we received the news that EAF had been added to the Great Charity Challenge on Feb. 19. Our team was amazing and finished 9th, earning $25,000 for our recipients! Yea Team Candice, Ahmed and Brittni!

We were fortunate again to be the charitable partner for the Lusitano Collection Auction, which is always one of the highlights to the winter season. March brought the return of the Palm Beach Dressage Derby competitor's party and auction to benefit the EAF. More than 400 people joined together to hear very special guest Courtney King-Dye's comments on the one-year anniversary of her riding accident.

If you missed one of these fun-filled events, you can still enjoy it through the videos and links in this issue!

The EAF booth featured lots of treasures at our silent auction and Vhernier Italian Jewelers auctioned a beautiful ring to benefit the EAF. Visit www.lusitanocollection.com  for more.

Palm Beach Dressage Derby - March 3

Mary Phelps introduces Courtney King-Dye with Lendon Gray
The fourth annual Palm Beach Dressage Derby reception to benefit the EAF offered guests some surprises this year. We were honored to have special guest Courtney King-Dye there to say a few words on the one-year anniversary of her accident.

Excerpt from Courtney's blog: 'I'm speaking at the EAF fundraiser at the Palm Beach Derby, which is a great cause I'm all too familiar with now. I've been so lucky to have absorbed so much caring, but I know not everyone is so lucky simply because not so many people know. It's very touching that the horse community supports each other in rough times. This is a way we can offer support even if we don't know someone.'

ShoClothes sponsored a fun fashion show of the Alessandro Albanese clothing line. One of the six outfits was auctioned during the evening and was so popular, not one - but two were sold! Thanks to Michelle Hundt of ShoClothes and Alessandro Albanese for adding a touch of style to the party!

See all the coverage and more photos here.

Special thanks to: Fred and Kim Boyer, Renee Isler, Mary Phelps, Robert Dover, Brian O'Connor and Johnny Robb. "I thought the entire event captured not only a spirit of fun and camaraderie, but also how much all of us in the horse industry, regardless of our personal riding discipline, love and support each other," said Jane Savoie, who served as the event's dressage judge
