 4- Week Golf Workshop- Turlock Studio
ARE YOU READY TO TAKE YOUR GOLF GAME TO THE NEXT LEVEL? If you've always been skeptical about how Pilates & Functional Training came improve your golf game, read on!
First, golf stresses one side of the body
more than the other, so it's easy to get a back injury or feel uncomfortable, which
takes the fun out of the game. Pilates can prevent this from
happening. Pilates improves posture, and in golf, maintaining proper
posture during your swing and follow through reduces the strain on your
lower back and shoulders. Pilates exercises are the best for improving
core strength, which is essential for any golfer. Many golfers have
knocked several strokes off their game, improved flexibility in their
shoulders and hips, and strengthened lower back and abdominal muscles. As Joseph Pilates
stated "In 10 sessions you will feel the difference; in 20 you'll see
the difference, and in 30, you'll have a whole new body." In relation to
golf - after 10 sessions you'll notice the improvement in your game and
after 20 sessions you'll be hooked on
Pilates!

TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE
And the winner is. . . . TEAM B.O.B. aka Blame it On Bistro Thad Phillips, Amy Phillips and Dede Avila Congratulations on being the FIRST TEAM to win the TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE in Turlock! Over the course of 12-weeks 6 teams of 3 took on the challenge of Transforming their bodies. . . and they did indeed!
Nearly 150 lbs. of FAT LOST!!!!!
Don't just take if from us, read what they have to say. . . At the Studio we have added years to our
lives. We have achieved improved health, energy and endurance with the
added benefit of a combined weight loss of almost 50 pounds in less than
one year. Carrie didn't just tell us that we could reach our goals,
she showed us how by providing an education in fitness, nutrition
and metabolism. With this knowledge we have been successful in losing weight in a
healthy way and now have the tools to maintain our weight loss and

Ish for about 6 years and have been very fortunate to have him take me from a
50 year old person who never ever worked out, to someone who is stronger
and in better shape than she has been in her entire life. We started with
a reformer, moved on to strength training, cardio and yoga. When he left
to join this beautiful place called The Studio and Carrie and Amy and the rest
of their staff, I followed him of course along with many others, and continued
doing those same things but now had even more available to us. Not only
was it a welcome change from a gym, (you are never on your own) you are now in
a learning environment. Encouraged by everyone to keep trying classes I
never would have attempted, on to the Transformation Challenge that did what it
promised, truly transformed you, you can't believe what this will do for you,
worth every moment. It is wonderful to have people that I consider
very athletic and in great shape look at me and say, "You look like that from
working out at the Studio?" I can only say that I just found a place that

JUST BECAUSE IT'S GREEN DOESN'T MEAN IT'S HEALTHY
 Recently I was grabbing lunch at Quizno's. Before ordering, I of course pulled out my handy-dandy iPhone to check out my nutrition app. I was amazed to find that most of the salads have nearly 1,000 calories or more. Below is just one example:
Quizno's Chicken with Honey Mustard Flatbread Salad 1,110
calories 74 g fat (14.5 g saturated) 2030 mg sodium This has nearly as many calories as five packages
of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Half the salads on their menu top
1,000 calories, and 330 of those calories come from the flatbread
alone.
The lady ahead of me in line at Quizno's ordered one of these flatbread salads, and I thought to myself. . . "I bet she thinks she's making the healthy decision." Just when you thought you had it figured out, restaurants and fast food chains have figured out a way to pack the calories and fat in even the most "healthy" foods.
Salads can be a great healthy meal choice if you make the proper choice. Beware of the fixings. . . dressing, toppings, breads, etc. can all add several hundred calories and pack on the fat.
Here a a few healthy salad choices: McDonald's Premium
Asian Salad with Grilled Chicken 300 calories 10 g fat (1 g
saturated) 890 mg sodium Panera Classic Café Salad 400
calories 11 g fat (1.5 g saturated) 270 mg sodium Jack in the Box Southwest
Chicken Salad with Grilled Chicken Strips 310 calories 12 g fat (5
g saturated) 840 mg sodium Carl's Jr. Charbroiled
Chicken Salad 330 calories 8 g fat (3.5 g saturated) 580 mg
sodium Denny's Grilled Chicken Salad Deluxe 290 calories 10
g fat (5 g saturated) 770 mg sodium
BOTTOM LINE. . . GET THE NUTRITION FACTS BEFORE ORDERING! SALAD DOESN'T ALWAYS EQUAL HEALTHY.
