Darlene Waddell Named to Transition Team
RALEIGH - N.C. Department of Transportation Secretary Gene Conti announced recently that Darlene Waddell, long-time executive director for the Global TransPark Authority, will join a transition team supporting the integration of the N.C. Ports Authority and the Global TransPark with NCDOT. She begins her appointment Jan. 1.
"NCDOT is fortunate to have Darlene in this new role," said NCDOt Director of Strategic Initiatives Roberto Canales. "As a CPA, she is an asset to the team as we merge financial systems and internal processes."
In her new role, Waddell will work with the State Ports Authority Senior Leadership Management team as they transition to NCDOT, and will be assisting with financial, accounting, strategic planning and foreign trade zone matters. She will work out of the ports offices in Wilmington and Morehead City.
Former state Commerce Secretary Jim Fain will continue to lead the Global TransPark as its president and Waddell will be available to assist the TransPark as needed. |
