Hello! Thanks so much for using Internet4Classrooms with your students and children. Our mission is to help you find the best educational online resources available to meet your individual needs. Our monthly newsletter focuses on sharing information, tips, and ideas on everything related to schooling inside the classroom and at home. Each month we'll be featuring resources and information on a variety of topics. We are constantly upating information on our site, and urge you to visit often!

Things To Celebrate This Month |
October is a really busy month. From National Bullying Prevention to Fire Prevention, Chemistry Week, and Character Education, there is a lot to squeeze into your classroom. We encourage you to take some time to click through our site. You never know what wonderful resources you can find to enrich your classroom experience. Let's get started!
National Bullying Prevention Month
Child Health Day - Oct 3
I4C has a large page of Health Resources for the classroom, including everything from heart health and food pyramids, brush charts, adolescent health, drugs and alcohol education, and first aid.
Space Week - Oct 4-10
Celebrate Space Week with these Elementary Science resources. Print solar system coloring pages. Play space games with the Planets. You will find a lot of different Science help.
National Fire Prevention Week - Oct 9-16
This year Fire Prevention Week is featuring "Protect Your Family From Fire" focusing on fire safety plans in the home. For Grades 1-2, learn about smoke alarms and fire safety plans. For Grades 3-5 learn how to locate smoke detectors, test batteries, create escape plans, and more. Print a family fire safety checklist. I4C also has a fire safety page offering fire safety games, coloring pages, and lesson plans.
Columbus Day - Oct 10
Who was Christopher Columbus? Check out our Columbus Day resource page for lesson plans, crafts, and history.
Earth Science Week "Our Ever-Changing Earth" - Oct 9-15
Explore our Elementary Earth Science Resources and find everything from online science quizzes and crosswords to water cycle games. We also have High School Earth Science Standards organized by topics such as the Universe, Energy, Earth Cycles, and Geologic History.
National Chemistry Week - Oct 16-22
Click for a large list of General Chemistry Resources, which includes interactive chemistry animations, periodic tables, molecules, elements, and chemistry quizzes and tutorials. Find simulations on everything from laws and equations to heat transfers, diffusion, and conductivity. We also have an End of course Chemistry section for High School Standards with sites that help students get prepared for Chemistry exams.
National Character Counts Week Oct 16-22
Teachers and family alike have a duty to instill values, morals, and ethical education in our children. Find information on anger management. Scroll to the Character Building section to locate Six Pillars of Character lesson plans, along with personal conduct guidelines. Explore our conflict resolution lesson plans. Our bullying section offers ways to help students cope.
Statue of Liberty Dedicated Oct 28, 1886
Did you know it's been said that the face of the Statue of Liberty was inspired by the sculptor's mother? In the midst of the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, the Statue of Liberty in New York shines even brighter as a symbol of freedom. Find the history of the Statue of Liberty, pictures, and more.
Halloween - Oct 31
Find spooky Halloween activities, crafts, and recipes for the whole family.
Mt Rushmore was Completed - Oct 31, 1941
PBS has a wonderful interactive site dedicated to Mt. Rushmore. Take a look at how the monument was made, with actual footage of the workers sculpting the mountain.

Internet4Classrooms offers a wide variety of informative online resources, tips, tools, and tutorials regarding your classroom needs. There is always something you can utilize with your students. Each month we'll feature a few links to useful topics.
What is with this crazy Weather? Help students explore everything from clouds, water cycles, and precipitation to online weather quizzes and forecasting.
Did you know I4C has a lot of Foreign Language Resources? Spanish, German, French, Hebrew, and Chinese to name a few.
Find computer lab lesson plans to use in a lab or classroom setting and get valuable integration help. We also provide links to technology lesson plans for Elementary and Middle School levels.

Don't Forget: Free Online Practice for ACT Test and SAT Test Resources . I4C now offers free SAT and ACT vocabulary and math quizzes . Become a free member and log in as much as you'd like. Students can take practice tests on 5000 vocabulary words.Take daily practice math quizzes on over 1000 questions. Log in to monitor your students' scores - including seeing which vocabulary words or math questions they missed. Interactive quizzes allow the test taker to retake and study as much as they want.

Tech Tip #1: Undo Just a Reminder - you can Undo something quickly, whether it be you just erased the wrong text, or you pasted something in the wrong place. Click CTRL+Z to undo your last computer activity. More keyboard shortcuts.
Tech Tip #2: How to Close a Stubborn Window Have you ever experienced a pop-up ad, or window from a program or game that won't close, even after clicking on the "x"? Try clicking ALT + F4. It will exit out of most programs. More Word Tutorials.
Tech Tip #3: Don't Forget About Print Preview Save paper and frustration by remembering to Print Preview your docs before sending them to the printer. Click on File - Print Preview or the Office Icon - Print Preview and view exactly what it will look like. I4C has Office Tutorials here.
