Our monthly newsletter focuses on sharing information, tips, and ideas on everything related to schooling inside the classroom and at home. Each month we'll be featuring resources and information on a variety of topics. We are constantly upating information on our site, and urge you to visit often!

Author of "The Star Spangled Banner" Was Born - Aug 1, 1779

Francis Scott Key was born in Maryland on this day. He went on to write the Star Spangled Banner in 1814 , when it was originally titled Defense of Fort McHenry.

International Left Hander's Day - Aug 13th

What do Judy Garland, Paul McCartney, Seal, and Bart Simpson all have in common ? They are left handed! This fun site has a list of public left handed figures that will surprise you.

MLK Gave His "I Have A Dream" Speech - Aug 28, 1963

Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his famous speech on this day at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C . Watch, read the transcripts, and remember all of the great things MLK stood for.

Technology Tips

Tech Tip #1: How To Really Delete A File Forever. Typically when you delete a file, you're really sending it to the recycle bin, where it sits until you manually empty the bin. But there is a faster way. Hold the SHIFT key down when you delete a file. Be careful! It will be gone forever. Click for more PC and Mac shortcuts.

Tech Tip #2: Manage Tasks Online. Visit our Web 2.0 section to find Online Organizational Tools that will help you create to-do lists, assignment notes, and manage your calendars quickly and easily .

Tech Tip #3: Refresh Your Computer Knowledge With These Online Tutorials. Get back into school mode and browse our online tutorials section. You will find help in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and more .
