Jon Flora
President, Franciscan Foundation

Greetings from the Franciscan Foundation.  This marks our first foray into keeping in touch with you through e-mail and I hope you find it helpful.  Our intent is to keep you informed about the Foundation's work to support the Franciscan Health System in a manner that is quick, easy, and brief.  I promise to not flood your e-mail in-box; rather, I'll just drop a note periodically when there is something interesting to share. I welcome your feedback and especially your ideas for how we can make this more useful for you.  And, of course, feel free to forward this on to friends and colleagues.

The last couple of years have been exciting, rewarding, and even a bit exhausting for our staff and volunteers - but the results have been nothing short of remarkable.  In the last three years, we have raised more than $23 million to support high quality healthcare in the South Sound.  The last two years have been record years for the Foundation and, even with a tough economy, our donors have continued to help us invest in keeping Franciscan Health System among the best healthcare systems in the nation.

Thanks for your continued support and commitment to our mission of helping those in need.

 Sincerely,

Jon Flora
President

Success at
St. Anthony Hospital

The addition of St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor has been an exciting adventure for everyone at FHS.  For the Foundation, it marks the most successful capital fundraising effort in our 21 year history and, for that; I offer my personal thanks to the more than 1,300 donors and the campaign committee who made it possible.  We look forward to being part of the peninsula community for many years to come. Click here for more information about how you can be involved.
New Enumclaw
Regional Hospital

The other new member of the Franciscan Health System family is Enumclaw Regional Hospital where we are beginning construction of a new hospital for the plateau.  Steel is up, excitement is growing around town, and we are beginning our capital fundraising to provide enhancements to the new facility.  We especially look forward to working with friends and colleagues at the Enumclaw Regional Healthcare Foundation in raising support for the new hospital. Regular updates will soon be available via Facebook and Twitter.  Click here for more information about the new hospital and how you can help.
Emergency Care:
St. Clare Hospital

St. Clare Hospital anticipates more the 50,000 people to visit its Emergency Department this year.  To better meet the growing demand and ensure high quality service, the Foundation is seeking to raise $700,000 from the Lakewood and surrounding communities to help improve this vital component of the hospital.  Combined with a generous $500,000 "challenge grant" from a long-time supporter, $1.2 million will be invested in the Emergency Department remodel.  A special thanks to brothers Toby Murray and Jamie Murray for co-chairing the Campaign Commitee.  For more information about supporting the campaign please email David Snow, Major Gifts Officer, or call 253-428-8455.
Reaching Out: Community Grants

For nearly a decade, the Franciscan Foundation has given back to the communities we serve through our community grants program.  In the past year, we have made grants totaling $295,000 to a variety of non-profit partners who share our commitment to serving those in need while strengthening the South Sound.
Additional information about our recent grants and grant applications is located on our website.
