ESB Hosts TEAM Event on Public Perception
Popular Seminar Series Began in 2005
In what has proven to be a popular water industry educational series, ESB hosted it's 23rd TEAM Event on October 27th, 2011. The topic was, "Public Perception and the Detection of Trace Constituents: Finding the Right Balance". Presenters included Allison Mackenzie, CEO of ESB, Kevin Milligan, Utilities Assistant General Manager for the City of Riverside and Michele McKinney-Underwood, Community Affairs Manager at Western Municipal Water District. Ms. Mackenzie focused on the subject of detecting contaminants at lower and lower levels and how this affects the setting of detection limits. Mr. Milligan and Ms. McKinney-Underwood discussed the challenging task of educating the consumer and taking control of the water quality message. A lively discussion involving event attendees provided insight into the complexities of the subject matter. Speaker presentations can be found on our TEAM Webpage. The series will continue in January 2012. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

ESB Green Tip For Thanksgiving Avoid Disposables
Even though using disposable dishes and utensils makes life easier for cleaning after a huge green Thanksgiving, try to avoid them. Disposables cost extra money, and are really just plain wasteful when you consider you probably have the means to get by without them. If you need extra dishes or utensils you don't already have, just ask one of your guests or neighbors to borrow what you think you might need. They'd be more than likely to oblige, especially if you are planning to provide them a grand Thanksgiving dinner.
