Babcock Labs:

Providing Analytical Solutions to Neighbors in Need

TEAMLoganOlds
Logan Olds from VVWRA

If your water heater broke at home, would you call a plumber in Miami to come fix it? If you lived in Florida, probably, but here in California you wouldn't depend on a company located states away to fix your problem. You would call a local company with a trusted name to get the job done quickly and efficiently.

The same is true throughout the business realm. After all, a local partner appreciates the climate of your situation and is already aware of the many unique challenges you face. Using a local business means you can speak to professionals in real-time and receive the answers you need without dealing with a call center located miles away. A neighboring business is also conscious of the reputation of your organization and is willing to work with you to achieve your goals - not simply focus on their own... (read full article here)

We were fortunate enough to have Mr. Olds speak at our July TEAM event about how his agency dealt with a crisis last winter. To listen to his description of Babcock's role in the emergency, click here. For his entire podcast and other information, please see the full article.

ESB Lab Tip
Need a Quick TAT on Your Sample Results?

SampleFreezerPlease notify your Project Manager ahead of time for any rush work you will be sending to the lab. Your PM will check lab availability and notify the staff to expect your samples. When you submit your samples to the lab, make sure you clearly indicate the requested turnaround time on your Chain of Custody as our Sample Receiving staff will log your samples into our system according to the turnaround time specified on the COC. If you have any questions about sending in samples with quick TAT, please contact your Project Manager.

Employee Spotlight
on Deanna Bailey

DeannaHeadshot

Ms. Bailey began working for ESB in 2005. Previous to her employment here, she worked as an Office Manager at a mechanic shop for two years and then attended the American River College in Sacramento specializing in Child Development. Deanna began working as a pre-kindergarten teacher in Norco but did not find the job to be as enjoyable as she had envisioned and decided to pursue her career elsewhere.

Deanna now works as a Project Manager Assistant (PMA) whose daily responsibilities include sample log-in review, reporting, invoicing, bottle orders, subcontract work orders, and the delivery of final reports to clients. She is also responsible for helping with any client questions or requests. Before holding the position of a PMA, Deanna served as a Customer Service Associate here at the lab.

In her free time, Deanna enjoys spending time with her son, friends, and family. During the summer she frequents Lake Mead and in the winter seasons she considers Glamis to be her home away from home. Deanna also likes camping, off-roading, watching movies, hanging out by the pool, BBQs with friends and family, and day trips to Lytle Creek.

ESB Green Tip
computer screen
Did you know that simply shutting off the lights when leaving a room can save you about 5% on energy bills annually? Anything that uses electricity can hike up utility bills and waste energy. Shutting down your computer and turning off your monitor every evening will cut down on energy use and save money. Turning off lights and electronics when not in use are just two very basic ways to stay green at work!
