ESB Staff Host 105th Year Anniversary Open House Event!

Open House

ESB team members had a wonderful time with our clients at our open house, Thursday, May 19th! In celebration of our 105th year, the laboratory provided tours highlighting various analytical methods. Laboratory Technical Director, Larry Chrystal, hosted one of the presentations, demonstrating our new LC/MS/MS used for determining pharmaceuticals and other CECs (constituents of emerging concern) in environmental matrices. Fred Kent, manager of the Organics Department, spoke about volatile compound analysis by GC/MS. Carol Kase, manager of the Microbiology Department, explained coliform determination by presence/absence and heterotropic plate counts. Metal detection by ICP and ICPMS, along with organic pollutant load determination using BOD measurements, were also presented. Additionally, clients had a chance to view our newly remodeled front office space. This reconfigured floor plan creates smoother work flow and facilitates project communication, allowing for even greater customer satisfaction.

Everyone in attendance enjoyed food and beverage, as well as a chance to network with industry and government leaders. The event offered a great way for our staff to talk with our clients in more depth about their company's needs, experiences and concerns. If you weren't able to attend, you missed out! ESB Lab Tip - Chain of CustodyChain of Custody

A chain of custody is one of the many ways Babcock Labs can ensure high-quality results. When submitting samples, it is imperative that a chain of custody form accompanies all of the samples. The form should provide the identity of each sample collected, the date and time they were collected, what type of preservative was used (if any), and any special reporting requirements, such as emailing of results. Chain of Custody forms are available on our website's Forms & Documents for your convenience. If you have any questions abour Chains of Custody, please contact your Project Manager.
