ESB's New LC/MS/MS Instrumentation

How We Will Put it to Work for You!

LC/MS/MS

Earlier this month ESB took delivery of a new LC/MS/MS (Liquid Chromatograph/ Mass Spectrometer/ Mass Spectrometer). Although Babcock Labs has been using LC/MS/MS for more than six years, the new piece of equipment has even greater sensitivity than its predecessor. A very useful feature is its ability to perform in-line sample concentration, which cuts sample preparation time from days to minutes. This means that our clients can now receive the same reliable results even faster!

"It is a relatively new tool in the arsenal of instrumentation used to measure contaminants," says Laboratory Technical Director, Larry Chrystal. (full article)

Employee Spotlight On...Hsin-Yi Lee
Hsin-Yi Lee

Hsin-Yi Lee joined Babcock Labs as a Project Manager in 2007. In her position, Hsin-Yi advises clients and assists them with multiple projects as they progress through the testing process - from the beginning of a project until the final data deliverables are complete. She is the client's eyes, ears and voice in the lab. Hsin-Yi began her environmental career in 1998 at APCL in an EDD/Data Deliverable position. She then moved on to Report Generation, then Sample Receiving/Login and eventually left there as Project Manager. Hsin-Yi has her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from California State University, San Bernardino and is well versed in various forms of EDDs included CDPH EDTs, WaterTrax, Geotracker, and SWAMP. When not at work, Hsin-Yi enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at her son's school, and BBQing. And just last summer Hsin-Yi welcomed a new edition to her family, her daughter Jasmine!

ESB Green Tip: Retire the Fax Machine
Computer Mouse

If you still need to fax documents, retire the old paper machine in favor of a scanner or eFax service. No more separate paper, toner, power and maintenance, and you only print the ones you really need to (if any).

Make it a habit to print on both sides or use the back of old documents for scrap paper or drafts. Avoid color printing and print in draft mode whenever possible.
