ESB Customer Service Survey Results Are In!

At  ESB, our goal is to continually provide customers with "unparalleled environmental laboratory services." As part of that process, our staff recently surveyed clients to get  their feedback on how we are doing. The results are in. When asked to rate their experience with our Field Department  personnel the average ranking was an impressive 4.9 out of  5. In customer service, our Project Managers and Laboratory Director were ranked  4.7 out of 5. These scores reflect our commitment to providing clients with excellent customer service both in the field and in the lab. Stormwater Contamination - A Slick Problem
Storm PictureAlthough not particularly toxic in and of itself, Oil and Grease (O&G) is a key indicator of pollution in storm water runoff.  In the environment, Oil and Grease has many deleterious effects. In sewage, it hinders the proper operation of the water treatment facility. In storm drains, it makes an efficient "cover", preventing aeration and providing a food source for bacteria -- leading to anaerobic conditions.

Lab Tip of The Month
Plan Ahead for End of the Year Sampling
With the calendar year coming to an end, it is important to make sure you plan ahead to finish your sampling requirements before the holidays as the lab will have fewer hours of operation (see holiday schedule below). If you need your reports by the end of the year, make sure you submit your samples no later than mid-December. If you need to order sample containers, please contact your Project Manager. Make Your Own Wrapping Paper!

Newspaper Giftwrap
Most mass-produced wrapping paper you find in stores is not recyclable and ends up in landfills. Instead of using this type of gift wrap, here's a great chance to get creative! Wrap presents with old maps, the comics section of a newspaper, or children's artwork. Or use a scarf, attractive dish towel, bandana, or some other useful cloth item. If every family wrapped just three gifts this way, it would save enough paper to cover 45,000 football fields.
