| Gurudev Birthday Celebration and Retreat in Paradise
|
| October 15 - 18 Come to Jamaica
Embark
on a journey into that magical place within as we come together to celebrate and
honor our dear Gurudev on his birthday. We will be staying in an 18th century
great house, Good Hope, nestled majestically on top of a hill surrounded by
lush mountains with a river flowing through bamboo forests below. Practice yoga amidst the hummingbirds, tropical flowers, the morning
mist as it flows through the valley, the setting sun and the rising moon. Receive Gurudev's darshan in the gardens under the coconut fronds, where you will
naturally relax in the beauty of nature.Bring your
most festive Indian outfits and your swimsuit for the sacred yoga party on the
beach, as we dance around the bonfire, under the stars, to the sound of the
Caribbean Sea lapping at our feet. There will be drumming, chanting, merriment,
and an Indian feast. Good Hope
is famous for its gourmet organic vegetarian food, which is grown in the
community. There will be spa treatments available, tennis court, pool, bird
sanctuary, potters studio, an evening at glistening waters, horseback riding,
hiking on the 200 acre plantation and swimming in the river and at the beach.
Confirm your space
by paying a non-refundable tuition of US$250/person to the Amrit Yoga Center (call 352 685 3001, or pay your tuition online now. Then reserve your accommodations by paying a deposit of

Featured Amrit Yoga Teacher Monica Kustra Brings the Art of Living to Fellow Artists
| |
My
intention is to bring
artistic-minded people together to honor Gurudev's teachings. This is
accomplished by having a host that invites their friends over for a
"yoga party
and potluck" in their home. At the event I provide the yoga mats and
instruction of yogic philosophies, followed by a session of the Amrit
Method of
Yoga. To conclude my instruction I always do some form of "Creative
Meditation" in which I show through the use of simple art projects,
stream-of-consciousness writing and even Rasa Dance that the same
techniques of
transcending the ego through asana can also be cultivated artistically.
I've
found that the grass-roots approach is well recieved amongst a group of
friends
that is looking for inspiration, a new adventure, or maybe even
struggling with
fear or doubt. Whether they label themselves as "artists" or not, it
is amazing to see that Gurudev's teachings all lead to the same place;
Beyond that
which their mind could ever imagine. This is a pretty powerful
statement, until
they experience its Truth. Then it simply becomes the truth that they
can apply
to all aspects of their life.
I
teach my students that which I have been taught at the Amrit Yoga Institute,
that to express your true Self, you must speak from your open heart. From this
experience it is then that some people choose a preferred medium in which they
best express their own Divine creative wisdoms. To live artfully is to be
connected with your Divine creative potential with each breath in, each breath
out, and every moment in between. To be lost in the moment is to be present
with the endless Divine creative potential that is revealed through the Posture
of Consciousness. I am available in the Palm Beach County Area for Private or
Group Instruction and "Yoga Parties." I also lead an Amrit Yoga class
at Bar Bender's Gym in West Palm Beach every Saturday at 12:00 and Sunday at
2:00. Call 561-686-1308 for directions.

Amrit Mala - using integrative intention to heal our conflicting
relationship with money.
Have you ever reflected
on how much of your time, energy and attention goes into either earning or
spending money? How about trying to save money? And what about all the
conflicting emotions, desires, worries and resentments that seem to revolve
around money? Is the way you spend your money reflective of your deepest priorities
and your desire to serve your Higher Self?
Money is a carrier of intention.
Amrit Mala is an opportunity to transform your relationship with
money
by consciously allocating $1/day toward your integrative
intention. You will be surprised at the power of this simple
commitment - and inspired to discover that you can afford
to
give $1/day to feed the vehicle for these teachings that have
fed and
nourished you. Intention is the shaping force of your reality.
This has been investigated by seekers and mystics for thousands
of
years and now is being proven by Western science. The most
effective meditation technique is the one we practice regularly.
A
daily commitment to your intention, symbolized by your
allocation of $1
a day, brings new strength and resolve to your yoga practice, on
and
off the mat. In addition, each dollar coming to the Amrit Yoga
Institute is infused with the power of your intention, creating a
self-enhancing cycle of integration.
We need your participation to complete our first Mala of 108 people by October of 2010. You are invited to
join and watch the power of integrative intention grow exponentially.
