Greetings!

In this time of accelerated change on all levels, we are challenged daily to remain focused on that which is most important and essential to life. Gurudev's article, Escape the Pleasure Trap, offers simple and powerful wisdom for maintaining contact with our deepest intention.  Please take a look at the wide range of upcoming Amrit Yoga programs and workshops around the country that are designed to help you on your journey.
  Escape the Pleasure Trap
by Gurudev

Gurudev straight on Every passionate pursuit or attempt to gain the glorious dream of happiness and pleasure turns into a trap when attraction to that pleasure becomes dependency. If you are dependent on pleasure for your happiness, then you are also always afraid of losing that pleasure.  That is why there is no freedom from fear. You can make as many changes as you want and be as clever as you want, but if you're not clever enough to be free from fear, all your cleverness is foolishness.

Whenever you try to trap happiness and pleasure, what happens is that pleasure traps you. That's because you want to control the pleasure. The moment you have a need to control it, you are automatically controlled by it instead through the fear of losing the pleasure you searched for so persistently.

  Quantum Breath Meditation and Yoga
September 3 - 5
Shambhala Mountain Center Colorado

shambhala with rainbowCome visit the sacred Shambhala Mountain Center nestled in the beautiful mountains of Colorado just as the fall aspen leaves begin to turn. Gurudev will teach Quantum Breath Meditation.   95% of those attending are able to enter and experience the inner depth of meditation the very first time.  You will have a unique opportunity to learn meditation from an authority in yoga and meditation for the past 50 years.  Regardless of what meditation practices you are currently engaged in, you will discover a new approach that will allow you to create a quantum leap.  The most powerful part of this unique meditative technique is that it helps you make a quantum leap from time bound consciousness to a timeless state of being; from the dimension of "doing in time" to the "timeless presence" that you are.

This powerful technique creates a shift from doing meditation, to being in meditation.  Only when the "doer" who is practicing a meditation technique disappears into meditation has the technique served its purpose. You enter the sacred dimension of meditation where "doer" disappears in the doing, and subject disappears in the object.  You enter the experience of oneness where meditation happens.

Amrit Mala - using integrative intention to heal our conflicting relationship with money.

amrit malaHave you ever reflected on how much of your time, energy and attention goes into either earning or spending money? How about trying to save money? And what about all the conflicting emotions, desires, worries and resentments that seem to revolve around money? Have you ever experienced a relationship, business or personal, that changed dramatically when the issue of money was introduced?  Now here's a central question for everyone on the planet: is the way you spend your money reflective of your deepest priorities and your desire to serve your Higher Self? Or are you unconsciously allocating the money that is flowing through your life toward things that are not serving you, the people in your life, or the planet as a whole?

Money is a carrier of intention. Amrit Mala is an opportunity to transform your relationship with money by consciously allocating $1/day toward your integrative intention.  You will be surprised at the power of this simple commitment - and inspired to discover that you can afford to give $1/day to feed the vehicle for these teachings that have fed and nourished you.  Intention is the shaping force of your reality. This has been investigated by seekers and mystics for thousands of years and now is being proven by Western science.  The most effective meditation technique is the one we practice regularly. A daily commitment to your intention, symbolized by your allocation of $1 a day, brings new strength and resolve to your yoga practice, on and off the mat. In addition, each dollar coming to the Amrit Yoga Institute is infused with the power of your intention, creating a self-enhancing cycle of integration.

We have declared a desire to complete our first Mala of 108 people by October of 2010. You are invited to join and watch the power of integrative intention grow exponentially.
