The Milwaukee
Urban League's
Annual "Doing The Right Thing" Recognition Ceremony
On Thursday, November
12, 2009, The Milwaukee Urban League will sponsor its Annual "Doing The Right Thing"
Recognition Ceremony. The purpose of
this event is to recognize African American Youth from 3rd - 12th
grade for their positive achievements and services.
This
ceremony promises to bring together students, parents, families and community
members to celebrate excellence in African-American youth. The "Doing
The Right Thing" Ceremony is a component of the Urban League's Campaign for
African American Achievement. At least two-hundred students will be recognized in the following areas:

Academic
Achievement (demonstrated improvement or
continual achievement in academics)
-
Social
Achievement (students excelling in positive behaviors, have demonstrated
leadership, have been respectful towards peers and authority figures)
-
Athletic
Achievement (demonstrated improvement or exceptional skills in athletics)
-
Extracurricular
Activity (participated in
positive activities, pursued a specific talent, involved in creative arts,
and/or demonstrated responsibility and work ethic by working during the summer
months)
The ceremony will be held at:
Destiny Youth
Plaza
7210 North 76th Street (76th &
Good Hope road), Milwaukee, WI
5:30p.m.-7:30 p.m.
All who attend this event will leave
inspired and encouraged. We invite you
