Step it UP. Stay INVOLVED. Stay CURRENT.
Last week..I was working late in the office trying to play catch up from attending one of the best conferences that I have ever attended, and I was thinking about sacrifices? Who makes them and why? You hear parents talk about the sacrifices they make for their children, and religiously you read about the sacrifices that Jesus made for us, but as a young professional, what are the sacrifices that we make, and/or what are the sacrifices people expect us to make? When I first decided to join this Movement, I was convinced that the relationship that I formed with this organization would have a mutual benefit, and that I could pad my resume with its prestigious historical reputation. Now, I have been in this movement for 8 years, and there is not much I won't do, or much I won't sacrifice for the sake of the movement. With so much time in, I have seen the direct impact that this organization, and our auxiliary the Milwaukee Urban League has on this community, and I am proud to announce my membership! Padding my resume is no longer an issue, because now, I let the contribution of the Movement speak for itself. The brand "Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals" is synonymous with excellence and commitment! There are not many things that I would sacrifice for outside of family and friends, but this Urban League Movement is at the top of my list! If you are not fully committed to the Movement, I wouldn't expect you to understand the passion, but if you only allow yourself to take part in the full experience of the movement: meetings, community service activities, and conferences, you will see that the Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals is a small piece to a larger puzzle, and that we are part of the solution remedying the challenges not just in Milwaukee, but around the country! I have proudly sacrificed many nights away from family for the sake of the Movement...what are you doing? Yours in the Movement,
Richard M. Badger

Urban League movement. After the conference, I feel rejuvenated advocating the

"Attending the national Urban League for the first time, was direct exposure to
innovative entrepreneurs, dynamic and tenacious leaders and an immediate outlet
