{The President...Keeping You Informed}
Greetings MULYP Family,
This month was relatively quiet. We had our first Dr. Wesley L. Scott Scholarship
Luncheon hosted by Direct Supply, the monthly Regional Conference call was canceled
due to no chapter responses, we've had National Conference Updates, and the General Body Meeting.
The Dr. Wesley L. Scott Scholarship Luncheon was great!! We awarded 4 graduating seniors with
scholarships that ranged from $250 - $1000. Two of the students were presented with the awards personally, whereas the remaining two scholarship recipients
were awarded to the parents/guardians of the students, due to the students already
starting their collegiate careers.
We are appreciative to Direct Supply (Sharon Jordan) for all
of their work, and we are awaiting the video from the luncheon. In keeping with our spirit of service, the remaining food from the event was donated to
the Silver Spring
Neighborhood Center,
Jim Bartos, Executive Director was humbly appreciative of our contribution to the
organization.
I had an opportunity to correspond with Cassye Cook -
current National YP President about National Elections, and she expressed that due to
personal and professional reasons, she will not pursue a second term as National President. However, she will still remain part of the Movement. We hope to have a large delegation at the conference...all the information you need is available on our website ...as well as the Nationals website. See You in Chicago Family!
Yours In the Movement,
Richard M. Badger
President
