Our success comes by continuing to do what we are good at. I learned early in my career that I could not save the world. I will continue to look to each of you to assist me as we strive for greatness, not just for ourselves, but for the community as a whole.

Community Service is our focus, and we will strive to reach our 5000 hours, but we need the efforts of all, not just some.

I am thankful for all of your leadership, vision and insight! 2009 is the year that MULYP will make its mark locally and nationally!

Hello Friends,

Join us for our General Body Meeting this Thursday March 19th 6p - 7:30pm at Heartlove Place 3229 N. MLK Drive.

January through March, members enjoyed an entire week worth of free events with MULYP Week, a dating game, general body meetings, a Bucks game, community service events, and endless other opportunities for members to be engaged and network with each other! As I look ahead to the immediate future I ask that each of you tell your friends, co-workers and family about this wonderful historic organization that you belong to, and encourage them to join as well!

NUL Conference in Chicago!

Our 2009 National Urban League Conference is scheduled for Wednesday July 29th through Saturday August 1st 2009. It'll be held in Chicago, IL at the McCormick Place Convention Center. President Barack Obama is confirmed as one of the keynote speakers. We will notify all members once registration information becomes available. If you plan to attend, I would suggest you request off of work now, and we hope to see you there!

ESTIMATED Costs.
National Conference Registration: $275 early bird registration, $325 after early registration deadline.

Hotel: $180 average per night; $800 w/ tax roughly for the whole trip.

Food/Drinks: $30/$40 a day, depending on where/what you eat, how many drinks you have.

Transportation: by Megabus it is currently $3 per trip to Chicago
Separate Events in which you would have to pay extra for in your registration costs.

YP Luncheon $75 - Which is the BIGGEST National YP Event of the ENTIRE YEAR and where the National YP Chapter awards are given out!!! A MUST to attend!!!

Whitney M. Young Jr. Awards Gala - $125 NUL Awards event, formal attire, dinner, live entertainment and dancing.

Rough Estimate with YP luncheon price included, $1,325 for the whole trip. If you plan to have a roommate that reduces it to $925. Compared to other conferences that are available, you would have to pay for airfare plus a much higher registration fee so this a great opportunity for you!!!
