Independence Day for all Americans is July 4.  Independence for people with developmental disabilities, however, is often still a lifelong struggle.  Frequently, too, that independence is possible because of services and supports.  Reliance on those services and supports creates vulnerability...

This Independence Day we honor all across the country who work tirelessly to identify and end the Vulnerability Trail.

Existe Ayuda/Help Exists Toolkit
The Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime has released Existe Ayuda Toolkit. The goal of the Existe Ayuda project is to produce and disseminate replicable Spanish-language outreach materials to help improve the cultural competence of service providers and the accessibility of services for Spanish-speaking victims of sexual violence. These materials  -- glossaries, PowerPoint presentations, and other tools --  will help facilitate the work of bilingual/bicultural staff, especially those who are just beginning Spanish-language programs.
