Sibling Rivalry ... Dos Taquitos Xoco Coming to Glenwood South
Diner Debate: When The Diner closed last November in the Creamery Building space on Glenwood South, the debates started as to its replacement. The anticipation heightened with the onset of new construction (finally someone is addressing those quirky steps). Well, get ready for a sister act. The Hibernian Co. and Dos Taquitos have partnered to open Dos Taquitos Xoco this fall. Xoco is derived from the Aztec word "little sister" and the restaurant will feature a menu similar to their original, Creedmoor Road location in North Raleigh. Hibernian will handle the business end and this should be a nice compliment to Solas and Hibernian Pub. No official opening date has been announced.
Proper Mexican: Those of us with a taste for proper Mexican are excited to hear this announcement and looking forward to their "Mexicanados Menu" offerings and their famous Margaritas. Of course, the other Dos Taquitos downtown sister act ... "Centro" (Wilmington Street) is celebrating it's 5 year anniversary. Here's hoping that with "Xoco" we will be singing "Little Sister ... Do What Your Big Sister Done!"
Dos Taquitos Xoco: Coming soon to 410 Glenwood Avenue. Website

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors. No one can pay to be featured on The Beltline Buzz.. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of The Beltline Buzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.
That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail." Yes, these are paid for. And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount of money. We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz. We look forward to delivering it.
