Love the Skin You're In - Barenaked Ladies
play Raleigh Amphitheater July 12
You'd walk around naked all the time if it wouldn't make your coworkers uncomfortable. Et tu, Boo-tay? Well, here's your opportunity to witness Barenaked Ladies but maintain your respectability (assuming you are still wearing clothes in this 100 heat). The LAST SUMMER ON EARTH TOUR - featuring Barenaked Ladies, Blues Traveler, Big Head Todd & The Monsters and Cracker - will play at the Raleigh Amphitheater on July 12.
Freewheeling: The LAST SUMMER ON EARTH TOUR features the freewheeling, crowd pleasing antics of Barenaked Ladies, the Grammy winning Blues Traveler, and the epik performers Big Head Todd & The Monsters and Cracker. This is the one summer concert to catch. As you can see from their descriptions (below), these bands have worldwide appeal and have stood the test of time ... dare we say, survivors?
BNL: Barenaked Ladies (often abbreviated BNL) are a multi-platinum pop rock group known for their light-hearted, comedic performance style. Their live shows are known for humorous banter between songs and improvised raps/songs, both of which are staples at virtually every concert. They are best known for their hit singles, "One Week", "The Old Apartment", "Pinch Me", "If I Had $10000000", "Brian Wilson", as well as the theme for the sitcom "The Big Bang Theory". They are now composing an original score for "Animal House: The Musical".
Run-Around: Blues Traveler have sold over 10 million units worldwide and played in front of more than 30 million people. Their song, "Run-Around", had the longest- charting radio single in Billboard history. Their brand-new, two-CD retrospective, "25", offers an impressive overview of that career featuring "greatest hits" like "Run-Around", "Hook", "But Anyway" and "Carolina Blues".
Wake Up Calls: Colorado's Big Head Todd &The Monsters is the only band to ever play a shuttle Wake Up Call live from NASA's Mission Control. They, along with Cracker have built loyal followings over the past two decades and survived the major changes in the music industry. Their live shows are powerful; the antithesis of your typical warm up (i.e. wake up call) band.
Raleigh Amphitheater: 500 South McDowell Street; Date & Time: Thursday, July 12 6:30pm; Website

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors. No one can pay to be featured on The Beltline Buzz.. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of The Beltline Buzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.
That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail." Yes, these are paid for. And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount of money. We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz. We look forward to delivering it.
