Getting to Know You - Rangoni Firenze Shoes Grand Opening

They say that you can't really know someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes.

Amalfi ShoesAnd while you're all for making friends, traipsing around in somebody else's grungy, smelly shoes isn't really your thing.

Lucky for you, getting to know Rangoni Firenze Shoes, the new Italian shoe boutique in Cameron Village, involves nothing of the sort. The shoe designer's pleasing collection of Amalfi flats, heels and wedges is one you'll want to slip right on.

Now That's Italian!: Ugo Rangoni was a leather salesman in Florence, Italy. In 1937, he founded a company on a simple premise: "Shoes should be made using the best materials possible." And Ugo knew how to find the best. The Rangoni recipe of "quality plus comfort" proved so popular that in the early 1940s the

Niccolo Rangoni at Grand Opening in
Cameron Village Store

company created the Amalfi line for American buyers, becoming one of the first Italian designers to export to the United States. Ugo's son, Niccolo Rangoni, now runs the family business keeping his father's legacy alive by continuing to use only the finest materials in their shoes' construction.

Feels like Butta: Many of the finest tanneries in the world are located just miles from the Rangoni headquarters in Florence, Italy and it's from these that the leather for Amalfi shoes originates. Stop by Rangoni Firenze and check out their cutting-edge shoes that are high on style as they are on comfort. Each shoe or boot is crafted with a cushion insert to add comfort to its fashion forward look.

If the Shoe Fits: The boutique is loaded with an extensive selection of shoes in various styles heights and sizes that will take you from casual weekends at the beach to boardrooms to elegant weddings or a night on the town.

Amalfi ShoesIn the Bag: While shoes are the main focus, the handbags should not be missed. They come in luxurious leathers, metallic finishes, and exotic skins. Clutches, hobos, satchels, and totes are all there but with unique twists that makes it hard to walk out without one.

Rangoni Firenze boots, flats, and sandals might just make that last nine-tenths of a mile a little more bearable as you're getting to know them.

Rangoni Firenze Shoes: In Cameron Village, 422 Woodburn Road, Raleigh 27605, (near the Fresh Market) 888-459-4460. Website

I Satisfy

The Beltline Buzz items are selected by our editors.  No one can pay to be featured on The Beltline Buzz..  That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such.  Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of  The Beltline Buzz.  Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way.  So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.

That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors.  You'll recognize them from the subject line: "The Beltline Buzz Dedicated E-mail."  Yes, these are paid for.  And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone.  Not for any amount of money.

We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz.  We look forward to delivering it.
