Moving on Up in North Hills - Total Wine & More
Right Side, Left Side, or Across Six Forks? That's the dilemma one faces when describing where to find North Hills stores and restaurants. And if the shop is in the hole behind the Target ... fuhgeddaboutit! Well, Total Wine & More is no longer in the hole. It has moved up and across the street (the Lassiter side) into the prominent space left by Harris Teeter. Besides the obvious (VISIBILITY & PARKING), Total Wine & More now has 75% more space to showcase its inventory of over 8,000 wines, 2,500 beers, and its impressive selection of wine accessories, cigars, and gift items.
Bright, Uncluttered & Well Organized: That's the first impression that comes to mind as you step into the new store. Although it bills itself as America's Wine Superstore, this is definitely not the big box, impersonal experience. We approached Wine Manager, Eric Casteel, with a request for a favorite Tuscany wine, Brunello di Montalcino Castello Banfi. Eric not only knew it and quickly guided us to the wine, but also showcased the entire line of Brunello vintages that he had recently sampled. Large signs make it easy to find a type of wine (or beer) and/or its origin plus Total Wine's personal picks and value selections. Also on site is a cigar humidor, wine tasting stations (Free wine tastings on Friday and Saturday), and even a classroom for wine education.
Top of the Hops: From microbrews to alternative brews to imports, Total Wine has it covered. Same for bottles, cans, and kegs. Oktoberfest is just around the corner and it is not too early to stock the bar with a German favorite (or another from the 20+ countries stocked). The incredible microbrew selection gives new meaning to "Strange Brew" and will make you think you've gone to brew camp. Needless to say, if you can't find it, they can probably get it for you.
Total Wine & More: Hours of Operation - Mon - Thurs: 10am - 9pm, Fri: 10am - 10pm, Sat: 9am - 10pm, Sun: 12pm - 7pm; Phone: (919) 232-2580; Website; Complete Catalog
Other Total Wine locations: Raleigh Triangle Plaza, 6105 Capital Blvd; Brier Creek Shopping Center, 8381 Brier Creek Parkway; Cary Crossroads Shopping Center, 333 Crossroads Blvd; Durham Patterson Place, 3615 Witherspoon Blvd

TheBeltlineBuzz items are selected by our editors. No one can pay to be featured on TheBeltlineBuzz. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of TheBeltlineBuzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.
That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: "TheBeltlineBuzz Dedicated E-mail." Yes, these are paid for. And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount of money.
We hope that you continue to enjoy your BeltlineBuzz. We look forward to delivering it. |
