Carl Colglazier is the grand prize winner in C-SPAN Classroom's StudentCam documentary contest. His film, 'The Great Compromise' addressed partisanship and compromise in Congress. Carl is a home schooled eighth grader from Cary.

     C-SPAN Classroom's StudentCam video documentary contest was a national competition in which middle and high school students produced a documentary focusing on an issue, event, or topic that helped them better understand the role of the federal government in their life or community.

Krissi Fajenbaum was honored 'Heroes Among Us' from People Magazine

   Krissi started Teens 2 Teens in 2009, an organization created to help teenagers in need in the NC Appalachian Mountains. This non-profit program provides them with gently used clothing.
     In tenth grade Krissi had watched Diane Sawyer's "20/20" documentary on children of the Appalachians and the poverty in which they live. She was devastated to learn that this kind of poverty exists right here in NC, only five hours away from where she lives, and was compelled to start Teens 2 Teens.

     In the June 20, 2011 People Magazine declared Krissi as one of the "Heroes Among Us". Congratulations Krissi.  We are so proud of you! Click Here for her full story.

Laura Nelson sang in Carnegie Hall this past school year! What an honor to be in New York City at Carnegie! Way to go Laura!

A new author! Allie Miszewski's short story, "I Am Not a Rock" was published and can be purchased at "All Booked Up" in downtown Apex.

Harrison and Bryce Walther made it to the spelling bee finals at Laurel Park Elementary!

The volleyball team that Grace Heerding plays on, also known as the 12 Crystals, have placed 3rd in North Carolina in the 12 and under gold division. The 12 Crystals play for the NC volleyball academy in Cary.

Katelyn Ellard has qualified for the Jr. Olympics in jump rope taking place in New Orleans!

Conner Welch made honor roll his entire 6th grade year!

Kinnamon Hunt made Martin Middle School softball team!

Jonathon Sullivan received all A's and B's on his report card! Keep it up!
