Trapattoni says Athletic Union League is future of Irish football
First Ireland renews sponsorship for another five years
Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has announced Insurance Broker First Ireland is to continue to sponsor the Athletic Union League for another five years, following its first five year sponsorship deal.
Sarah Sheridan from First Ireland says: "The Athletic Union League is extremely important to Irish soccer and we are very proud to support the leading Irish amateur league."
Also present at the press conference were Irish players Seamus Coleman from Everton and Greg Cunningham from Manchester City (pictured).
According to the Ireland manager, the League is critical to the future of Irish football. Trapattoni said: "The young players today, whether growing up in Italy or Ireland, need support and help. First Ireland is very generous in renewing its sponsorship programme and supporting the League will help grow Ireland's talented young stars."
